A standard saloon comfortably takes two large suitcases and two cabin bags with four passengers reduced to three. An estate or MPV takes four large cases and four passengers, and an 8-seater minibus takes eight passengers with a case each. Pick by your bags, not just your headcount, because suitcases fill a boot faster than people fill seats.

The honest rule of thumb: if four adults are each bringing a large suitcase, don't book a saloon. Book an estate or an MPV. A saloon seats four, but four big cases won't go in the boot, and nobody wants a suitcase on their lap down the A38.
Awkward and oversized items
Golf clubs, ski bags, pushchairs, wheelchairs and boxed items all fit, but they change which car you need. Tell us what you're carrying when you book and we'll send the right vehicle. It's free to specify, and it's a lot cheaper than finding out at the terminal that your bags and your booking don't match.
Booking the right size
When you book online you choose the vehicle class, and the fixed price is set for that car. If you're not sure, add a note or call us on 0117 966 6666 and we'll tell you what four people with four cases really need. We'd rather put you in the right car once than send a saloon you have to send back.
One thing families forget
A child car seat takes a seat belt and some space, so a family of four with a buggy, two suitcases and a booster seat is usually an MPV job, not a saloon. Child seats are £5 each and chosen at booking. The family detail is on our child seats and family transfers page.
