£59 fixed, the same fare whether it's 1 person or 4, up to 4 passengers in one saloon car, about 35 minutes door to door. Split three ways that's £19.67 each; split four ways it's £14.75 each, and unlike a bus ticket, that number doesn't change if one of you is carrying an extra case.

The per-person maths
| Group size | Taxi total | Taxi per person | Train + Flyer per person* | A4 Air Decker per person |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | £59 | £59.00 | around £19.50 | £9.50 |
| 2 | £59 | £29.50 | around £19.50 | £9.50 |
| 3 | £59 | £19.67 | around £19.50 | £9.50 |
| 4 | £59 | £14.75 | around £19.50 | £9.50 |
*A1 Flyer bus from Bristol Airport to Temple Meads (£9.50) plus the train to Bath Spa (around £10), added together. Both public transport columns are per-head costs that don't fall as the group gets bigger, because everyone still needs their own ticket. The A4 Air Decker runs direct from the terminal to Bath bus station in about an hour with stops.
Where the crossover happens
Against the train-and-Flyer combination via Bristol, around £19.50 a head, three people is the level point and at four the taxi is cheaper per person as well as door to door. Against the direct A4 Air Decker at £9.50 a head, the taxi never wins on pure per-person price, and we're not going to pretend it does. What the £14.75 each buys over the £9.50 is 35 minutes door to door instead of about an hour to the bus station, four sets of luggage in one boot, and a car timed to your flight instead of a timetable. The general comparison, including the train's case, is on the Bristol to Bath taxi-or-train page, and the full route details, both directions, are on the Bath to Bristol Airport route page.
The luggage angle
A saloon takes up to 4 passengers and 2 large cases comfortably. Four people flying back with a case each and hand luggage on top usually want the estate (+about £10) or the MPV (+about £30), both still fixed and both still £59 plus that upgrade whatever time you land. The full vehicle and luggage breakdown is on the luggage and vehicle sizes page. For five or more, or a proper pile of luggage, the 8-seater group page has fixed fares for bigger groups.
The honest version
If it's just you, or you and a friend, travelling light and in no hurry, the A4 at £9.50 a head is the better deal and we'd tell you so on the phone. Once you're three or more, or you've got more than a case each between you, or the flight lands late and the last thing anyone wants is an hour on a bus, the maths and the door-to-door bit both point the same way.
